Boarding Information

Small Rodents & Chinchillas

Small rodents and chinchillas are boarded in our family home. We will discuss thier care with you and follow the diet and exercise routine you specify. We welcome handling all small rodents daily and we can ensure that pets that are used to having a large exercise area are provided with room to explore for a period each day.

All small rodents will need to board in thier own cage.

Rabbits & Guinea Pigs

Rabbits and guinea pigs board on the ground floor of our home. We have space to set up runs for all boarders. For those pets that are used to being outside we can set up a run in a secure area for daytime exercise.

Most boarders arrive with thier own hutches and cages as rabbits and guinea pigs can be startled by change. We do appreciate that this is not always possible and we do have spare runs available at no extra cost.

All rabbits boarding with us must be vaccinated against Myxomatosis and Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (VHD).

Food and Bedding

Most of our boarders bring thier own food to ensure continuation of diet. If this is not possible we can purchase the food brand your pet is used to. If your pets food supplies run out while they are with us we will try to obtain the same brand, if this is not possible we will use thenearest similar brand.

We supply additional fresh grass, fruit and vegetables to rabbits and guinea pigs on a daily basis if this is what your pet is used to. There is no additional charge for this. We can also supply "treats" for small rodents as specified in thier care plan.

We supply wood shavings and hay for no additional charge. If your pet requires a special type of bedding or hay mix please bring this with you.

Vet Visits and Medicine

We hope your pet will be healthy and happy with us but if your pet is ill we will contact you and will take your pet to the vet for treatment. Our vet is GP Vets in Tadley, Hampshire. We will not charge for the time to take your pet to the local vet but owners must pay the full vets bill.

If your pet needs specialist vet care we will charge petrol at 0.10 per mile.

We are happy to administer vet prescribed medicines to your pets whilst they are with us.
